Welcome to the Finbar Neighbourhood House

Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, Finbar Neighbourhood House has suspended many of our regular activities for term 3 - July to September. At the conclusion of this current lockdown we will determine if it is viable to recommence additional activities.

We are conducting several activities via ZOOM, Skype and 'Whats App'.  Please see below for our list of activities.

The office will be operational

  • Monday to Wednesday - 9:30am - 3:00pm
  • Thursday - 7:00am - 4:00pm
  • Friday - 9:00am - 4:00pm


What’s happening at Finbar during the lock down:

  • ZOOM Pilates classes Mondays & Thursdays $10 per class
  • Skype Ukulele Lessons with Grant
  • Art Class using What’s App.  Tutor also emails activities to participants.
  • Ancestry Class using Skype and What’s App

  • Providing daily wellbeing phone calls to the lonely and isolated members of the community.  Just need to talk to someone give us a call or if you have someone you would like us to call let us know.

  • FREE community library operating on veranda of Finbar – borrow a book, swap a book, donate a book!  We are in need of books – novels only please.

  • Community Garden project is still in operating- when we have garden produce it will be placed on front veranda for community members to access.

  • Compost station is fully closed until October, at which it may reopen depending on restrictions.

  • Knitting for the Lost Dogs Home:  Like knitting why not knit cosy jumpers for animals who are waiting for a new owner at the lost dogs home.  Download the pattern and start knitting. If you are able drop or send Jumpers into Finbar and we will arrange a drop of to the Lost Dogs Home.
